2 Children Find Both Parents Dead in Worst Way

Two children found both their parents dead in their home just weeks away from Christmas. It's suspected the parents died of a heroin overdose. The children, a 10-year-old son and 8-year-old daughter, found their lifeless parents at their house in Havervill, Massachusetts.

As soon as the children found their parents, they called their grandmother, who called a neighbor who went to check. The neighbor called 911.

The family had apparently moved into the home only weeks ago and the outside was decorated with colored ribbons and a Christmas wreath.

Haverill, a suburb of Boston, has reportedly become a heroin hub and has the highest number of heroin deaths in the area this year.

How terrible that these kids, looking forward to the holidays, have suddenly become orphans. It goes without saying, but drugs are a terrible, horrible thing. These parents, only in their 30s, lost their lives so young -- and now the kids will be traumatized for life.

The children are in the care of their grandmother, and at least they are safe. But I can only imagine the pain this family will have to endure for a very long time to come. Any parent addicted to a drug needs to think of this story and what could happen to their own children. Please get help before it's too late.

Have you ever known anyone who is addicted?
