Beloved Country Singer Kevin Sharp Dies at the Age of 43

Kevin Sharp

Today is a very sad day for country music fans, as singer Kevin Sharp has died at the age of 43. He passed away at his mother's home in Fair Oaks, California on Saturday night.

His sister, Mary Huston, reports that he succumbed to complications from past stomach surgeries and digestive issues, which stemmed from his aggressive treatment for Ewing's sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer. Though heartbroken, she said, "He had a strong heart, that's what kept him alive, [but] I'm so happy for him, that there's no more suffering."

Kevin is most famous for his hit single, "Nobody Knows," which was released on his 1996 debut album, Measure of a Man.

Here's a clip of him singing the song live ... you'll remember it as soon as you hear the first line.

Sharp was actually diagnosed with cancer during his senior year of high school, and he overcame the disease after two years of radiation and chemotherapy. However, the toll the treatment took on his body is what led to stomach surgeries and other complications.

In addition to his country music career, he became a motivational speaker and also served as a spokesman for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Kevin also penned a book about overcoming cancer entitled Tragedy's Gift.

He leaves behind two sisters, five brothers, and his mother. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time.

What words of comfort would you offer to Kevin's family?
