6th Grader Brings $20K to School & Hands It Out Like Candy (VIDEO)

hundred dollar billsNearly every day I find something interesting (and sometimes baffling) in my son's backpack that he's taken to impress or share with his friends at school. Never, however, has there been anything like what a sixth grade girl in Taylor, Michigan, recently brought to her school -- $20,000.

Yep, 20 grand ... in cold hard cash. According to WDIV, the student, at Sixth Grade Academy school reportedly showed up for classes Monday with a sack of one hundred dollar bills. What she did next, was perhaps even more shocking.

She started handing them out to her fellow classmates. Police say some kids got $200 while others got as much as $500. I'm guessing she was quite the popular girl that day.

Of course, with that much excitement in the air, teachers eventually found out what happened, and since they didn't exactly have anything in the student handbook about what to do when kids bring tens of thousands of dollars to school, they called police.

Police say no one was in danger during the incident, but "had word gotten out to maybe someone other than some other 12-year-olds, it could have put her in a dangerous position." So it's a good thing it all went down as it did.

Now, of course, there's the big question -- where did she get the money? Police are investigating, and you've got to wonder if someone's not going to go down big time for this. I mean think about the reasons people have that kind of cash sitting around -- not many of them are legal. Hopefully there's a logical explanation, and I can't wait to hear what it might be.

Where do you think the girl may have gotten such a large sum of cash?
