I've blogged for the Huffington Post andStyleite and was featured in Tara Stiles' yoga book, Slim, Calm, Sexy. When not writing or trying to touch my toes, you can find me losing at trivia nights in pubs or visiting friends and family in the South. I live in the East Village with my roommate and an excellently behaved DVR.
We all know by now that Teen Mom Farrah Abraham is very fond of not telling the truth, but I wasn't aware of just how willing she is to dig herself into an enormous hole lined with lie after lie after lie. It all started with her assertion that she and porn star James Deen made a "sex tape" together and that he betrayed her and leaked the video to the press. I can't believe she thought anyone would buy that story, but just when you thought her tall tales couldn't get any, well, taller, she goes and tells Metropolis Nights that a) James Deen isn't that great in bed, and b) that he acts like a 5-year-old on the playground when it comes to girls.
Whether you have a voracious reader at home or someone who'd rather eat glass than pick up a book, summer reading is essential for every high school student. Not only does it keep their brains from rotting, but it should also teach them the joys of a good book. Without deadlines or pop quizzes, reading can actually be fun!
And this list of 7 books is perfect for the off-season -- not too heavy, not too light, this collection of essays, novels, and memoirs is comprised of some of the most entertaining stories to come out of the last six decades.
It'd be understandable if it happened at summer camp, or even at a sleepover, but when your teen comes home from school with a belly-button ring, and you find out the teachersupervisedthe whole thing, you gotta ask questions. It happened at a classroom at Northern High in Pennsylvania. Ninth grade teacher April Beard let one of her eighth period students pierce her cartilage, then let that student pierce another's navel.
Gwen Stefani, her husband Gavin Rossdale, and their two sons Kingston and Zuma attended the Monsters University premiere in Los Angeles on Monday and wore fantastically color-coordinated outfits. Sticking with a palette of black, light blue, and white, the family of four is the first ever to make matchy matchy outfits look really damn cool. I mean, Gwen's red-lipped pop of color even matches Zuma's red P.O.C. on his shirt. This family really understands how to make a collective fashion statement, and I'm happy to recognize their effort.
Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici have yet to set a date for their wedding, but that doesn't mean that they haven't already thought about the guest list. The former Bachelor sat down with Hollywood Life and dished on which previous Bachelor and Bachelorette contestants will be invited to their wedding.
Some faces you'll recognize, and some you'll be like, "Wait, when did they become friends?" Check out those lucky enough to have made the cut.
