Nicholas Cage

It's about time that someone asked actor Nicolas Cage about this whole being a vampire business, because for the last five agonizing months, the world has been dying to know the truth behind this freaky Civil War photo. And who better to get to the bottom of the rumor than David Letterman. Nicolas Cage appeared as a guest on The Late Show last night, and in a futile effort to try to get the 48-year-old actor to lighten up even a little, Letterman whipped out a blow-up of the famous photo, supposedly of an ageless Cage, that appeared for sale on eBay back in September. Well, let me say this interview finally put one of life's greatest mysteries to rest and confirmed without a doubt one thing we all need to know about Nicolas Cage.

Big Bend Park Attack of 6-Year-Old Proves Parents Need to Carry Knives

pocket knife saves boyWhen you take little kids on vacation, you expect mishaps here or there -- a scraped knee, a fever -- but you never expect that your child might get attacked and dragged away by a hungry mountain lion! Maybe parents should be thinking a lot more about potential risks like these and go through life with some type of sharp blade. By now you may have heard about the 6-year-old boy who was attacked by a mountain lion while walking with his mom to their room at Big Bend State Park in West Texas, and if you haven't, I'm sure you just screamed WHOA! like I did when I first read the story. Of all the random, freaky things to happen.

John Kerry Broke His Nose Playing Hockey & It Looks Surprisingly Better (& Smaller)

John Kerry noseSenator John Kerry is so lucky! He broke his nose playing hockey and it came out looking even better than before. The distinguished 68-year-old senator from Massachusetts didn't have a terrible nose before -- slightly Roman, longish, and prominent -- but it worked well on his tall, stately carriage. I guess that hockey stick that he supposedly got in the face hit him in just the right spot, because for some reason, the beakish look is gone, his nose is more defined, and there's a slight upturn now.

See the "before" picture below.

Sharing Passwords With Your Husband Is Risky Business

computer keyboardThere's a new trend where lovesick teens are engaging in risky email password sharing with boyfriends and girlfriends as the ultimate sign of trust and disclosure that they are not cheating on them. Interesting. Don't these kids watch TV? Don't they know that this is a disaster waiting to happen? As soon as these 14-year-olds break up -- and most of them will break up -- their ex is going to be hacking into their accounts and broadcasting all their private messages to the world on Facebook and the web. While this is obviously a very bad idea for teens, email password sharing takes the discussion in an entirely different direction when talking about whether adults who are married or in committed relationships should also be sharing passwords.

No way! But for an entirely different reason.

Joran van der Sloot's Sentence Isn't Justice for All (PHOTOS)

joran van der sloot"Joran van der Sloot, you may leave the hall," the Peruvian tribunal said today right after it was determined he would serve 28 years in jail for killing Stephany Flores. Of course, this sentence also gave us here in America a very deep satisfaction in knowing that in some small, indirect way, he is finally going to pay for what most of us believe he did to Natalee Holloway.

The verdict today, two years short of the maximum (which is baffling), had nothing to do with the Holloway case. Her name was invoked in the sentencing, however, when the judge made mention of van der Sloot's suspicion in her disappearance, to which van der Sloot just sat there with his cold, expressionless face. This is not meant to take away from the vindication of Flores' family and her spirit today. This is a victory for the people of Peru and for the Flores family for the horrible crime that was committed against her. But Natalee's presence was there in that courtroom today, too.
