I have produced prose professionally for most of my adult life, adore alliteration, and prefer to write with an actual pen. Along the way, I have earned a black belt (and a few black eyes) in multi-tasking. In any spare time, I watch copious amounts of reality television and run recreationally to preserve my sanity and out of necessity to keep up with my 7-year-old son and 2-year-old daughter.

'The Great Gatsby' Trailer Will Make You Want to Party Like It's 1922 (VIDEO)

Leonardo DiCaprioRemakes and books made into movies aren't typically high on my list of favorite films. The upcoming version of The Great Gatsby directed by Baz Luhrmann, however, is both, but I can't wait to see it -- especially after seeing the trailer that was just released.

In short, it looks AMAZING. Leonardo DiCaprio plays Jay Gatsby; Carey Mulligan plays Daisy Buchanan; and Tobey Maguire is Nick Carraway. The cast alone is incredible, but then you add in the music (Kanye West and Jay-Z and U2 might seem odd choices, but they work), the costumes, and the whole feel of the era, and the book appears to be coming to life -- albeit with a definite twist. See for yourself after the jump.

'Real Housewives of Orange County' Recap: Tamra Barney Went Too Far

Alexis BellinoJust when my eyes were almost fully glazed over from having to watch Heather Dubrow debate changing her last name and then actually doing so at the DMV (must see TV that was NOT), things started to get good in the O.C. With a trip to Costa Rica on the horizon, Alexis Bellino decided to clear the air with Tamra Barney and invited her to what was supposed to be a nice little lunch that would end in them hugging it out and maybe praying or something ... or so thought Alexis.

I knew from the previews that Tamra was going to tell Alexis she thought she was fake, but I thought that might just be something taken out of context. Surely, if Alexis extended a proverbial olive branch in the middle of the day with just the two of them there, Tamra would at least be civil, right? Wrong. Instead, Tamra let her have it.

Snooki Ditches 'Jersey Shore' House for Baby's Health

SnookiCall the Mother of the Year committee, because Snooki, aka Nicole Polizzi, of Jersey Shore just may be in the running. No, I don't mean Child Protective Services, as I might have suspected we'd need to call when we first learned she was pregnant; I mean she's actually shaping up to be a fit parent. Her latest move is so unexpected and so wise, it's downright admirable.

It was impressive enough when she of the perma-orange-Cheeto glow, actually gave up tanning for her baby's health, but this is even bigger and more self-sacrificing than that. She's actually leaving the Jersey Shore house behind.

Kristen Chase Show When it comes to parenthood, there are some situations that throw you for a bit of a loop, no matter how much you've rehearsed (or planned to rehearse) for them. Sometimes even though you have envisioned yourself calmly explaining the birds and the bees to your son a million times, when he actually asks, there may be nothing but buzzing in your ears.

In this week's episode of The Kristen Chase Show, Kristen delves into this and some other sticky topics. She talks to child family therapist Jenna Rankin about how to handle some of the most uncomfortable situations we moms find ourselves in, like when your child walks in on you having sex or walks into the bathroom while you're putting in a tampon.

Dad Sticks Baby in Washing Machine in Joke That Goes Horribly Wrong (VIDEO)

Baby in WasherThe sign said “Junior Wash $2.95," so while doing laundry at his local laundromat, a Washington man decided to be a funny guy and put his baby inside the washing machine. Only when he closed the door, it locked, and the machine turned on ... with his baby inside the machine.

Horrifying footage shows the baby spinning around in the machine and being bounced around as the parents helplessly try to get him out. For at least a full minute, the baby is in there. You can't tell if water is pouring in or not, but the things that could have happened to this child are unimaginable. Watch the video after the jump, but be warned -- it's pretty disturbing.
