I'm the editorial intern here at The Stir. I've written for Boston NPR, Improper Bostonian, and BuzzFeed, although my favorite (and most delicious) job was taste testing recipes for America's Test Kitchen. I'm a southern California girl, self-proclaimed TV-watcher extraordinaire, who follows over 25 shows (seriously!), and I constantly crave avocados.
There's nothing more fun than eating foods that are colors that they aren't supposed to be. Anyone remember the blue ketchup craze? Kids went crazy for that stuff! While the colored butter might have been a step too far for me (I still can't wrap my mind around that one), I can't say no to rainbow cupcakes.
These delicious and, most importantly, colorful cupcakes are SO easy to make (you only need some cupcake mix and food dye), you'll be wondering why you've never tried them out before. The key is adding just the right amount of drops of food coloring to separate bowls of batter and then adding the batter into cupcake liners in even layers.
If you're looking to make a cupcake that tastes a little lighter than usual, try a simple dollop or swirl of whipped cream on top instead of traditional frosting. The fluffy topping is the perfect touch for these crazy cupcakes. Drop on a few of your favorite sprinkles, and you're good to go!
Nope. No. Non. Ne. Nein. Shut up. If Brandi Glanville has anything to be confident about (besides her fierce personality), it’s her rockin’ bod. Unfortunately, she thinks she needs to go on a diet. She even goes as far as to call herself "chubby." And let's face it: she definitely doesn't need to and she's nowhere near chubby.
The sad thing is that it seems like what Brandi is going through right now is probably what a majority of the women in "Hollywood" experience on a daily basis: the pressure to look good and be skinny. Honestly, it must be extremely difficult for them. The average woman already has pressure from society to look a certain way, and that pressure must be multiplied by a thousand for female celebrities. And let's be real, no one should be judging them.
Tonight on KUWTK, Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick recreated Kris and Bruce Jenner's sex tape. It was every bit as gross as it sounds ... and then some.
Basically, the family was at dinner and somehow Kris brought up the fact that she and Bruce made a sex tape way back in the day -- you know, a casual Kardashian dinner conversation. Scott instantly was infuriated that Bruce admitted to doing something like a sex tape when he's bashed and judged Scott for doing "stupid" things for years. So how does he decide to get back at him? By recreating the sexcapade. Good one, Scott. That'll show 'em who's boss.
Ice cream is one of the most classic desserts out there, but sometimes people pass it up because the caloric intake just isn't worth it. Well, over here at The Stir, we think that no one should ever have to give up eating ice cream bars (or ice cream sandwiches)!
That's why we were on a mission to blind taste 8 different kinds of reduced-fat and low-calorie ice cream bars to figure out which treat would satisfy our cravings without breaking our diets. The biggest surprise? The full-fat ice cream bar we threw into the mix didn't win! VICTORY!
Honestly, it would take a pretty big uh-oh to mess up the perfection that is a brownie. Throw some chocolate and sugar in there (and, you know, some of those other vital ingredients), and you've got yourself a crowd-pleaser.
However, there are some brownie recipes that are just so delicious and chocolatey that you can tell in the first bite it would be hard to find a better one. Those out-of-this-world brownies pack a secret punch that would leave even those indifferent towards brownies drooling for more.
