Country Singer Craig Strickland Is Still Missing After Ominous Tweet

Was it a sign of the danger to come? Country singer Craig Strickland, 29, is missing after taking off on a hunting trip with his friend Chase Morland, 22. The last thing they tweeted was a joke about not coming back, and on Monday, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol found Morland's body.

Morland posted this to Twitter on Saturday, and Strickland re-tweeted it.

The Midwest has been slammed with storms  recently, making for some pretty hazardous conditions. The pair's boat was found after midnight on Monday, shortly after they were reported missing.

Strickland is the lead singer of Backroad Anthem, a country group that has opened for Toby Keith, the Eli Young Band, and Dierks Bently, since being founded in 2012.

Strickland's family has been using social media to try and search for clues as to what happened to him. His dad, Randy wrote, "We are trying to think of a scenario where he is still alive ... Hoping against the odds. We can't even stand to think about it. We are devastated."

His wife Helen, former Miss Arkansas 2014, shared the following message on Twitter.

It's so scary that they sent that tweet out right before the deadly trip. I'm sure neither of them thought much about it, but it ended up being terribly foreboding.

I hope that Craig is found alive and well, and if that's not the case, I hope that his family can at least get some peace about it. Missing persons cases are so devastating for those left wondering what happened to their loved ones. Let's just pray that that's not the case this time.
