Kids Who Hate Mom Write Shocking Obituary That Calls Her 'Evil' (VIDEO)

Thanks to the Interwebs, pretty much anything can become viral. One strange trend has been for nontraditional obituaries that uniquely pay tribute to a deceased loved one becoming Internet sensations. There's the war hero who penned his own obit and made some crudely funny jokes. The guy who confessed all of his venial sins. Come to think of it, it might be best just to write your own obit. Leaving your last words -- your from-the-beyond sentiments -- to someone else, even your children, could end up being, well, not quite what you expected. Take this shockingly vicious obit written by the six kids of Marianne Theresa Johnson-Reddick. Let's just say it's probably not what you'd want to leave as your last written legacy!

Marianne's kids, all of six of them, well, there's no polite way to put this: They despised their mom. And when she died, they had no problem letting the world know about it. The obit is chock-full of scathing indictments. It's the obit from hell. The obit you spend a lifetime hoping no one will EVER write about you. Here goes:

She is survived by her 6 of 8 children whom she spent her lifetime torturing in every way possible. While she neglected and abused her small children, she refused to allow anyone else to care or show compassion towards them.

When they became adults she stalked and tortured anyone they dared to love. Everyone she met, adult or child was tortured by her cruelty and exposure to violence, criminal activity, vulgarity, and hatred of the gentle or kind human spirit.

On behalf of her children whom she so abrasively exposed to her evil and violent life, we celebrate her passing from this earth and hope she lives in the after-life reliving each gesture of violence, cruelty, and shame that she delivered on her children.

And that's not even the end of it!

The obit was placed in the Reno Gazette-Journal. The online listing has since been removed, and the paper says they are investigating it. This is a real person who died, but did her kids really write all of this?

Certainly, there are mothers who are cruel and abusive. Certainly, there are children who hate their moms. Usually, they are not so united about it, though.

I understand wanting to vent, but didn't the children do this in therapy? Why drag it all out in public, with a woman who is no longer around to defend herself or give her side of things?

I think once a person is dead, you focus on the positive. If you can't find one positive thing to say about someone -- and those people do exist -- then keep quiet. These children had a lifetime to confront their mother over her actions. Why keep confronting her once she's dead?

What do you think of this obit?

Editor's note: Reports say a woman by this named died Aug. 30. Her obit was dated Sept. 30. Presumably, that is an error.
