Happy Father's Day! Today we celebrate the men in our lives who have held us, fed us, taught us how to ride a bike and drive a car, and maybe even cried when we first left home. And we celebrate the men who are helping us raise our own children. A brave new generation of men who change diapers and cook dinner (right?).

At our place we're celebrating with donuts and bacon because that's how we roll. But we're also taking a break from the Father's Day cards and Daddy Worship to enjoy a few laughs with these sweet and wacky Father's Day videos

We only have a few days left before Father's Day, so the clock is ticking to find an ideal gift for the dads in our lives. Shopping around or cruising the Internet to find the perfect Father's Day gift ideas can be a bit of a daunting task, because there's so much out there to choose from, and let's be honest -- a lot of dudes can be pretty tricky to buy for.

My husband is extremely tough to find a cool gift for, because if he wants something, he usually just goes out and buys it before I have a chance to put it on my gift list. So this year, I'm trying to get a little bit creative and find him something a bit more unique that he doesn't already have.

Time to fire up the grill, because Father's Day is just around the corner. Unlike all those other Sundays where we dads are super busy crossing tons of items off the To-Do lists our beautiful wives give us (regrout the bathroom tile, paint the garage, vacuum out the inside of the cars), Father's Day is a day of rest. It's the one day a year we get to just relax, drink some beers, and watch sports on TV.

Father's Day is also all about the gifts. We know where guys are concerned, size normally matters. But trust me when I say it really is the thought that counts. And you know us guys, always thinking. Just be aware that sometimes the gifts you give us dads can send the wrong message. We're kinda insecure like that.

Take these 10 popular Father's Day gifts, below. Here's what they really mean in our warped minds.

Lots of people joke that we are destined to marry someone like our dad — and when I was younger I thought "no way is that going to happen!" Not because there was anything wrong with my dad ... in fact, he was a very okay dad from a teenage girls point of view. Yeah, it was annoying that he sang every. single. morning. Mainly because it was my inheriting this very singing ability that got me rejected from Glee Club in 2nd grade! And it was slightly embarrassing when, at 13, I found a great red, black, and white winter coat that my dad liked so much he went and bought for himself. Yes, the. exact. same. coat. Torture for a teenager!

But ... marry someone like my dad? Phewy. Never!  I DID NOT want to marry someone like my dad. He made me listen to 50's music and watch cowboy movies. My future husband was going to be way cooler than my dad!  And then it happened ...

Tomorrow morning, bright and early, I’ll start being flooded with text messages and e-cards wishing me a happy Father’s Day. It’s pretty much been a tradition since The Girl was born. That’s because I’m a single mama and have been unceremoniously charged with manhandling — pun intended — all of the needs of the household, from raising the kid to diagnosing weird noises under the hood of the car to cooking what I can at least hope are nutritious meals. I field the responsibilities that should be shared by two people. So up until recently, I thought it was fine to celebrate.  This year, I have a new perspective. I’m not going to reject people’s well wishes, of course. That would be rude, since they mean well. But I’m not going to dinner or getting a pedicure or anything else to commemorate the holiday. Try as I do to be there for Tween Girl in every way, I am not nor cannot be a father. Only a man can do that.
