Who doesn't love a military homecoming video? Seeing a mom or dad surprise their kids after months far away from home serving our country is enough to bring a pinprick or two to the eyes of even the biggest cynic. So how do you possibly make a video more heart wrenching?

You double it. Two parents who are serving our nation in the United States Army finagling joint leaves so they can come home together to surprise their two kids made me lose it this week. Soldiers Travis and Isela Ulman are an inspiration to all us parents who are trying to do the best we can for our kids. Just take a look:

Here I always thought the proper reaction when an adult gives up some of their free time to escort a poor lonely kid to the prom is: awww! Silly me! The way an Oregon school district sees it, the best way to reward track coach Melissa Bowerman for her magnanimous gesture is tell her she has to resign from her job.

The kid's dad, Bob Thomas, had actually OK'd the "date" between his 17-year-old son and his coach. But the district is backing down. It's just another one for the "school district usurps a parents' right to decide what's right for their own kids" file.

Moms. Dads. I have to break it to you. We are not the coolest people in our kids' lives. But that's OK! Really!

We who bathe and feed and clothe, we who get up in the wee hours to cool feverish brows and stay up late at night sewing wee costumes for the school play, we who sit through mind-numbing cartoons and even more mind-numbing bedtime stories ... are trumped every time by the grandparents. They sneak in and steal our kids' hearts, and that's the way it's supposed to be. Trust me. I've got proof!

Hey, did you hear the story about the married couple who had too much sex? Of course you didn't. That's one problem married people do not have, especially the ones with kids.

Still, we all manage to squeeze in some sexy time, but not without major effort. It's not easy to go from housework (dishes, laundry, picking gum out of the carpet) to hot and bothered during the typical day.

But a new survey by Zoosk.com promises that mind-blowing sex is just an airplane ride away.  In the poll, 69% or men and 72% of women say sex on vacation is way better than sex at home. To that, I say "Ah, Duh!" Here's why.

A Gallup survey of 60,000 women discovered that stay-at-home moms are more likely to have depression, sadness, and anger than working moms.

Sad, but not exactly a big shocker. It's a grueling existence. Something -- or someone -- always needs to be changed, cleaned, and preened. All it takes is a 10-week maternity leave for a new mom to realize that taking care of kids full-time is literally the hardest gig in the universe. It's no wonder so many woman are excited to get back to the grind. Basically, working moms are getting off easy.
