I talked to Santa for a good part of the day yesterday. I talked to him on the phone and by email, and he even sent me an email back! Moms in Answers were trading talk-to-Santa Claus toll-free numbers and websites; I road-tested a couple and EmailSanta.com was my favorite.
I went to EmailSanta.com and clicked on the tab "write to Santa."
Up came a form into which I entered my name, town, age (oops, I lied to Santa), whether I'd been good (I was honest there), and some of the things I'd like for Christmas.
I even got to select a e-stamp to mail the letter, give him a treat (goodies, soda, hugs and kisses, vegetables?) and add a note. I told him I still believe in him.
Here's what he wrote back to me ... based on the selections his robot elves picked up from my letter:
Merry Christmas Cafe Cynthia!
Thank you for sending me your email all the way from CafeMom Headquarters! HO!! Ho!! ho!! We get wonderful Christmas emails from boys and girls around the world but everyone at the North Pole sure gets excited when we get one from you Cafe Cynthia!
Jumping Jingle Bells, Cafe Cynthia! Are you really and truly 5 years old already?!? I'll bet you're really excited about Christmas! Everyone at the North Pole sure is! Are you looking forward to Santa Claus visiting your home? Rudolph said he's really excited about visiting your home! I also hear you've been a sorta good girl. (Of course, you won't mind if I do a little checking, will you? HO!! Ho!! ho!!).
Let's see what you put in your letter for Christmas wishes: 1. All the out-of-stock Zhu Zhu Pets; 2. An air hockey table and; 3. A Bose wireless sound system for iPod. Did you know that those silly elves are always playing Christmas tunes on their iPods? It's quite a sight to see all those little elf hats just a boppin' away while they work. If the elves have enough time to make an iPod for you this Christmas, I hope you'll play lots of Christmas music on it too (the elves would like that)!
Oh, yes, before I forget Cafe Cynthia, the elves really want you to visit my new blog! It is called Santa Claus' Christmas Blog. My blog is all about Christmas, life at the North Pole, and me, Santa Claus! You can even write messages to me and see what others have written. I can hardly wait to see what you write!
Oh! oh! The Grinch is trying to steal some of Mrs. Claus' cookies! That Grinch sure is funny. He may not like Christmas, but he sure likes those cookies! Well, I better go stop him before he snitches them all. Take care Cafe Cynthia and don't forget to come back and visit me here at EmailSanta.com on Christmas Eve!! And remember ... only 11 more sleeps until Christmas!
With All My Heart,
What a guy. I'm just relieved that my daughter will probably get her toy hamsters because I can't find them anywhere. And I promise I won't report Santa's illegal iPod knock-off operation to Apple.
