One thing I love about warm weather is the abundance of activities you can do. But once cold weather hits, your kids are limited (and are inside a lot more).
Momversation came up with some cold-weather activities for your kids to do:
- Snow painting: If you live in an area that snows a lot, your kid may get bored making snowmen and snow angels. Turn the backyard into a giant canvas by putting food coloring and water to a spray bottle and paint away!
- Ice skating: A favorite of mine during the winter months. Not only is indoor and outdoor skating fun, it's also really good exercise.
- Search for craft supplies: Nature is chock full of supplies for crafts, which your child can then use for homemade Christmas presents. Look for pine cones, sticks, pine needles, etc. to be used for various projects.
Check out the website for more winter activities.
What types of activities do you and your children do during the cold months?

Can't wait till the ponds freeze so we can go skating. I haven't given up my dream of turning my son into the next Bobby Orr.
I'm going to try the snow painting this year. My 4 year old wants to skate so I have been looking for a place with a pond.....maybe next year we will make our own.
snow painting sounds fun, thanks for that idea. =-)
Snow painting is awesome fun!
We dont get a lot of snow but I like the nature crafts idea!
I don't get very cold here, so it is pretty much the same type activities we always do.
Snow painting sounds like fun! They can do it in the back yard.
I am going to do the snow painting today when my daughter gets home from preschool. How much fun that will be. She will have a blast! We do a lot of things in the snow. She likes making snowmen and snow angels. She likes to go sledding but she will actually only go down the hill maybe twice. Other than that, she and I just watch Daddy and her brother go down the hill a bunch of times. She likes to stand by the fire.
