When it comes to Back to School clothes shopping, most moms I know choose one of the big chain stores, which offer affordable choices, good quality, and sale prices especially for Back to School.
Where do you take your kid(s) shopping for Back to School clothes and why?
Right now, I tend to spend more on clothes for my older son since he's the only one in formal school (not preschool) and because his little brother will end up wearing more than half his big brother's clothes again in the future.
On the other hand, I find it's hard for me to spend much on new clothes right at Back to School time because it's still so hot here and will be through October. So I'm not usually in any rush to buy everything at once in August/September. This works out for us now since the boys are still young and don't care about their Back to School style yet.
To start the new school year, I usually just hide away my oldest's grubby cut-off shorts and worn-out summer gear and get the boys new shoes and a few fresh new T-shirts, which can be paired over long-sleeve Ts in the winter.
What do you buy at Back to School time? Do you stock up for the full school year? Shop all the sales? Or do your kids wear school uniforms? Do you make your kids' clothes? Shop thrift stores? Have plenty of hand-me-downs? Share your best money-saving options.
And most importantly...if you Back to School shop, WHERE is your favorite place to shop and to get the best bang for you buck?
