In 2007, McDonald's invited a group of everyday moms to be Moms' Quality Correspondents and gain unprecedented access to the McDonald's system.
Since then, they've gone behind the counter at McDonald's restaurants; toured McDonald's supplier facilities; and met with everyone from McDonald's executives to franchise owners and employees. They've been able to ask the questions about McDonald's food and learn about the quality of the ingredients and nutritional value of their kids' favorite menu items.
On June 15 and 16, the moms will meet again at the 2009 Moms' Quality Correspondents Summit at McDonald's headquarters in Oak Brook, Il., and this time they'll be joined by a CafeMom! passiondiva_ny has volunteered to be part of the experience to go behind the scenes at McDonald's. The trip will focus on the Happy Meal, in celebration of its 30th birthday, and McCafé, McDonald’s new espresso-based coffee line.
The moms will learn about the history of the Happy Meal, see first-hand how toys are developed, and discuss future evolution. They'll also find out all about the development of McCafé -- from beans to brew. The best part is that they'll be able to ask any questions and get answers from the experts.
What questions would you ask about the Happy Meal or McCafé?
Post them in the comments section below and passiondiva_ny will make sure she asks them at the summit. Make sure to check back here after the summit when she posts the answers to your questions and writes about her experiences behind the Golden Arches.

How about a Grilled CK with Salad for a kid's meal? My kid would love that, and I'd take him more. You know he loves the toy, so a regular salad just won't do.
I think the cardboard boxed happy meals were o much better wheb I was a kid and now they use paper bags - but yet have the box in the ad I clicked tp yet here!! Can we get the boxes back?? If no, or even better, could you make re-useable boxes and instead f bew boxes, hand out papers to go inside insteas of new printed bags each time???
sorry for those typos I am trying to nurse a kicking baby!
I wish they would get their orders right every time. Almost every visit something is left out. And make sure they have all the toys in stock, they never do. I like them for a quick snack for my son, just have issues with things not always being in stock..
When will you offer a healthy alternative to your regular menu, meaning --- no added preservatives, no added salts, no added sugars...etc?
That's my question.
I saw this mentioned about, but I'll repeat it anyways:
1) Ordering - something is ALWAYS missing. Have you ever received the apple dippers without the dip? Not a pretty site!
2) Seems like my McD's is always out of apple dippers. My kids prefer them to fries.
3) Toys that always break or don't do anything. There is no point in buying them. I don't expect much, but I would go back more if there was a toy that actually worked. PS. Hot wheel cars were the best toy EVER in a happy meal (at least for my family).
4) Juice boxes now cost extra for a Happy Meal. It doesn't say it on the menu (very clearly) and no one tells you when you are ordering.
5) Would love to see a Kid's menu (besides the standard Happy Meals) for kid size items - salads, fruit/yogurt parfait, mini burgers, etc.
