In 2007, McDonald's invited a group of everyday moms to be Moms' Quality Correspondents and gain unprecedented access to the McDonald's system.
Since then, they've gone behind the counter at McDonald's restaurants; toured McDonald's supplier facilities; and met with everyone from McDonald's executives to franchise owners and employees. They've been able to ask the questions about McDonald's food and learn about the quality of the ingredients and nutritional value of their kids' favorite menu items.
On June 15 and 16, the moms will meet again at the 2009 Moms' Quality Correspondents Summit at McDonald's headquarters in Oak Brook, Il., and this time they'll be joined by a CafeMom! passiondiva_ny has volunteered to be part of the experience to go behind the scenes at McDonald's. The trip will focus on the Happy Meal, in celebration of its 30th birthday, and McCafé, McDonald’s new espresso-based coffee line.
The moms will learn about the history of the Happy Meal, see first-hand how toys are developed, and discuss future evolution. They'll also find out all about the development of McCafé -- from beans to brew. The best part is that they'll be able to ask any questions and get answers from the experts.
What questions would you ask about the Happy Meal or McCafé?
Post them in the comments section below and passiondiva_ny will make sure she asks them at the summit. Make sure to check back here after the summit when she posts the answers to your questions and writes about her experiences behind the Golden Arches.

I agree with the other person......who picks the happy meal toys? They always break and kids can't get much play out of them. Why can't mcdonalds come up with a meal plan like KFC for larger families ? I have never tried your hot chocolate don't push all the latte on to people.
why can't we have yogurt parfaits in the happy meal? Why can't they work a bit harder to make it healthy? and why don't they make some better toys?
Someone told me that the burgers are going to be started to be made with worms again. Is that right? If so that is so gross.
To answer some questions.
They do offer a Breakfast Kids Meal. It's a sausage biscuit kids meal. That's what you have to ask for.
They will not be making the burgars with worms (I'm not sure where you heard that, but it is not true.)
1) more options for meatless meals for kids. Ordering a "grilled cheese" causes a huge commotion in many franchises.
2) offer a kid sized salad. My DD loves the salad but they're far too big for her to eat.
We have appreciated a school field trip through a functioning Mc Donald's with a regional coordinator. Wish that more franchises either offered them or even had a clue that they are available.
And the family night - with a craft. Those are fun too - - - - when they're held.
That said, I would like to see MORE franchises doing more than just serving burgers and fries. The ones around me do absolutely nothing.
i hate when they dont have the right and whats up with the under 3 toys its always the same thing i have like 2o of the same toy.. also i agree with having healtier options alot of children are overweight or at risk of being overweight ,offering grilled chicken or salad or the fruit and yougart parfait is a wonderful choice ,also soy milk option would be great my 15 month old dd cant have milk ,so i have to order soda for my 5 yr old because the little one will want his milk
My DH actually works at McD's and I'm appalled at how some of this food is prepared. Is it that hard to toss some onion in a food processor instead of having to rehydrate dried onions. How about slicing some tomatoes, do you really need them to come pre sliced instead of fresh?? I understand it might save some time but taking the extra 30 seconds to slice a fresh product tells me that you care a little more about quality. If it takes a couple minutes longer to prepare my meal then so be it, I'd gladly wait if it meant FRESH produce was being used.
Something that bothers me is the nutritional info on the packaging. Fries for example. All the containers say the fries are 1 serving and list the info for it. A SMALL fry is one serving! A large fry is more like 4 servings. Just because 1 person is most likely going to eat that large fry does not make that 1 serving of french fries. Same goes with the soda! Just because 1 person will probably consume that large soda does not mean it is 1 serving.
I would like to see ALL the buns whole wheat, more grilled options, less preservatives and fillers, less artificial dye (which my son is allergic to), more low fat options esp. with cheeses and sauces, and more FRESH things like a freshly sliced apple instead of apple slices soaked in citric acid (or even substitute pure lemon juice instead of citric acid). I would LOVE to see organic foods being used as well especially for your healthier options!
My kids love chicken nuggets.. I know i will probably go to hell for feeding my kids this but - what doesn't kill you these days?all the pollution in the air, sun... My dad never drank or smoked and has cancer. A chicken nugget isn't the end of the world lol. I would like to see happy meal toys that are not so noisy and have on off switches. What about string cheese for a option?
I have a question for McDonalds, well, more like a request and I am DEAD serious!
Could you PLEASE make sure your employees can speak and understand ENGLISH fully...there is a McDonalds close by my home in Silver Spring, Md. that I go to for my most fav drink on earth, Sweat Tea, and being from the south and implanted up here there are very few places besides home that you can get good sweet tea! I also get other things there but I swear to you EVERY time I go there, my order is messed up in one way or another because the employees either cant fully understand me or we cant seem to communicate completely and its starting to make me VERY angry, and its not just the one by my home, its a lot of the McDs in my area and its a SHAME!!!!!!
I really hope this doesn't sound like a complaint because its not. I'm just wondering if this is right or if my local McDonalds are doing something wrong. I am in love with the new McCafe drinks! But everytime I order a hot McCafe drink, no matter the size I order, it is not at all full. There's usually at least an inch left between the rim of the cup and the top of the whipcream. I kind of feel like I'm getting skimped. But I've decided this must be normal because ALL of the McDonalds I have ordered McCafe hot drinks from have been like that. I'm just wondering if it should be?
