I was a little uncomfortable after reading an article in the Chicago Tribune about a 13-year-old boy from New York who is already considered (by some) to be a celebrity chef and rising star.
According to the article, Greg Grossman has been cooking since age 7. Now he caters gallery openings in New York, is shooting a cooking show for TV, and even has a book in the works! I think it's great if he has a talent for cooking but wonder if his parents might be pushing him a little too hard. It reminds me of that other story about the 5-year-old chef with his own cooking show. Shouldn't these kids be worried about homework and spending time with their friends? Still, if they they are happy pursuing their passions, then maybe it isn't such a bad thing.
What do you think? Are you ever afraid of pushing your kids too hard?
