Most parents know all too well that kids often have no filter. Whether they're placing demands on everyone from mom and dad to the tooth fairy, or sharing their thoughts on a new sibling, children really do "keep it real." The Instagram account Kiddy Litter is teeming with hilarious examples of the times when the little guys and gals get a little too honest.

They'll out you for your bad habits while simultaneously telling you they love and hate you. But when you see it on paper in their big handwriting -- accompanied sometimes by illustrations -- you can't help but laugh. Take a look at these brutally honest notes and see if any of the sentiments look familiar.

Sneaky Devil!

Looks like this kid's got it all figured out. Taking advantage of moms who are the distracted might be the oldest trick in the book, but apparently it still works. Who can be mad at a kid who puts a smiley face at the end of this advice?

Steroids

You have to admire that this kid has an outside-the-box answer that allows him or her to avoid doing the math. We don't know how old this child is, but his or her knowledge of performance-enhancing drugs is both funny and frightening.

Serious Lack of Privacy

Not only is this kid spying on this poor mom on the toilet, now she's illustrating it! No one wants to discourage a budding artist but this is a bit much.

Two Out of Three

It seems like numbers 1 and 2 are totally within the realm of possibility. No. 3? Not so much. But, hey, it's good that this kid has big dreams!

What a Negotiator!

This kid drives a hard bargain, but Raphael should know that if he gets the genie lamp he can just wish for more money and another chess set. Just sayin'.

Points for Self-Awareness

At least this Frankie knows he/she has a good thing going there and is completely honest about it. We have to wonder where this child heard the word, though, right? There's bound to be a good story behind that one!

A Daytime TV Fan

Well, you can't blame Mom on this one. Ellen is fun! Maybe Mom is trying to pick up some new dance moves? Also, we have to believe this mom is probably doing a ton more that this kid just doesn't see or appreciate quite yet.

Special Delivery

Oh, Joyce, it's hard to learn this lesson at a tender age, but as the Rolling Stones have taught us, "You can't always get what you want." Maybe you'll get a puppy when your baby brother grows up? A gal can dream.

Poor Dad

Something tell us maybe the author of this note had just gotten into a bit of trouble with Dear Old Dad. Let's hope Papa doesn't take it too seriously.

Who Doesn't?

This sounds like a mom we'd like to meet. Sometimes at the end of a long day, moms needs a little something to unwind and relax. Hey, we don't judge, and chances are this mom has earned it.

Holding a Grudge -- Sort Of

Don't you love that while this kid is giving someone the silent treatment, he or she still admits to loving this letter's recipient? Too cute. It's nice to know that this grudge only lasts a short time.
