"Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth."

Not only was "Happy" nominated for an Academy Award (don't you remember it from Despicable Me 2?), but it was also the best-selling song of 2014. The uplifting tune has so many sentiments about love and positivity that parents can now read to their kids. Geared toward children ages 3 to 7, Happy is a picture book that brings Pharrell's lyrics to life with the help of -- what else -- happy children!

In addition to emphasizing the importance of being a good person, Pharrell hopes Happy will also encourage literacy. The 10-time Grammy winner announced his endeavors on Instagram, where he also shared news of a wonderful #ReadHappy initiative that will give up to 50,000 books to kids in need.

"Happy" holds a special place in my family's heart, as it was the song that helped calm down my firstborn during those oh-so-wonderful sleepless nights. Sure, it's a tune that was played over and over (and over) again, but why not keep something on repeat that has such an amazing message?

My 1 1/2-year-old loves books with vibrant imagery. I'm sure Happy will become one of his favorites as we can sing the words together right off the page. This is a great idea that encourages song, dance, and reading all bundled into one.

Thanks, Pharrell!
