Town & Mom of 5-Year-Old Girl With Terminal Cancer Hope to Fulfill One of Her Final Wishes (PHOTO)

They say it takes a village to raise a child, and my does this sentiment ring so true in the town of Hood River, Oregon. Not only have they made 5-year-old Lila May Schow their unofficial princess, but continue to help her family in any way they can. This time, they look to fulfill one of Lila's final wishes: to sing onstage with Luke Bryan.

For those of you not familiar with this story, Lila has been battling Stage 4 neuroblastoma that doctors now believe will take her life before this Thanksgiving. This family has fought so hard to make her dreams come true -- and much of that is because they live in a caring town. Not only have fellow residents helped to raise money each year for treatments, but continue to do what they can to make sure whatever time this 5-year-old girl has left is both special and full of love.

It's extremely heartbreaking to know families face such tragic situations like this. And yet, it must feel pretty amazing (given the circumstances of course) to know you aren't alone in your fight.

I truly hope this is one wish they can grant for little Lila.
