With Pansy Kidd on their team jerseys, can you imagine the kind of ribbing they get from the opposing players?

Weed High School is 20 minutes from me and for your information it has nothing to do with Weed!! The town was founded in the late 1800's as a lumber town and was named after its founder whose last name was Weed!! It is a very nice college town with an amazing view of Mt Shasta!!!
I think you're missing the point mamacalifornia... I think we all understand how schools are named... it's just unfortunate how the names appear to ppl these days
My mother was born in Weed. I used to work in Weed...while we all in Siskiyou County know the town was named for a lumber baron, I'm sure we all know how people perceive the name. Instead of changing the town name, many business are capitalizing on the innuendo. There is a wonderful microbrewery in the area that makes a beer they call "legal Weed". The Weed Bakery logo used to say "It's a name, not an ingredient". Weed is a lovely town, we tolerate the chuckles then smile and move on.
I went to a school in an area notorious for drug use called O.D secondary school. I also attended a school who's mascot was a Cowboy, and our rival school was the redskins.
Thanks for the laugh
