It's probably a good idea to go grab a box of tissues before reading any farther. You're going to need them after hearing about a 7-year-old boy with leukemia who had the chance to become a superhero.
Thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Anaheim Police department helped Alex Lelenoa become Robin and gave him the chance to ride around town as Batman's sidekick for the day. They went on an adventure through Orange County where they went after the "bad guys," and even managed to squeeze in a helicopter ride and a trip to Knott's Berry Farm.
Take a look at this video -- and get ready to absolutely melt when you see the smile on Alex's face.
OMG. I can't stop the tears. What a precious little boy! He was so proud to be wearing that costume, so much so that you could feel the joy coming out of him when he realized what was about to happen.
And how about his mom? No wonder she said she felt like her heart was going to pop out of her chest because she was so thrilled for him. Any parent in her situation would have the exact same emotions, and it must have been so special for her to see her son enjoying a day filled with nothing but happiness.
You can't put a price on making a little boy's dreams come true -- especially one who has been through such a tough battle. And I think everyone will agree that even though Alex had to take his Robin costume off -- he's still a superhero and an inspiration.
Did this video move you to tears?
