Keeping kids entertained can be ridiculously expensive. Going to the movie theater can run over $100 once you add soda and snacks. And a sporting event -- forget about it. So what are budget-conscious parents to do? Just ask June Shannon. I know there a lot of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo haters out there, but there is a lot you can learn from the family matriarch. When it comes to saving a few dollars, no one is better than the self-professed coupon queen. She manages to keep her girls happy without spending a cent. Check out mama June's sage advice for cheap family fun time. All you need is a hose, a blindfold, and an open mind!
Everyday household supplies can provide endless activities if you are creative enough. So when June doesn't have a coupon for Chuck E. Cheese's or bowling, she doesn't sweat it. One of their favorite family games? Redneck Slip 'n' Slide. You just have to wet a plastic tarp with a garden hose. You need even fewer supplies for "Guess Whose Breath?" All you need is a blindfold and a strong stomach!
They also love going mud-boggin' on four-wheelers. The fun doesn't stop until everyone is caked with mud from head to toe! "That doesn't cost much money," advises June. "Just a little bit of detergent to wash your body up and get the mud all off of it ... we just have fun with it and spend time together. That is what matters at the end of the day." Can't argue with that!
