OMG. Can you think of any better birthday gift for a kid than to have his military dad come home and surprise him with a reunion he'll never forget?

Well, that's exactly what happened to little Aiden Whyte on his fifth birthday when his father, Navy Reservist Justin Whyte, took advantage of a 96-hour break from training in California and flew home just in time for Aiden's birthday party.

And since the bash was Star Wars themed, Justin went all out in making sure this was a birthday to remember. He dressed up as Darth Vader, and challenged Aiden to a lightsaber duel.

Take a look at this video clip to see what happens when Aiden removes Darth Vader's mask and realizes his true identity.

Cue. The. Tears!!!! I always get a bit emotional when watching military reunions, but as the mom of a son around the same age, this one made me bawl like a baby.

It was obvious that 5-year-old Aiden was in a state of shock upon seeing his Dad's face under that mask, which was so precious -- but I really lost it when his daughter screamed "Daddy!" and came rushing over to hug him.

Even though his time at home was short, it must have meant the world to Aiden to have his Daddy there on his birthday -- and I'm sure he'll never look at Darth Vader the same way ever again!

Do you think your child would've realized his dad was under that mask?

These videos hit me hard! My husband and I have a 3yr old & 1yr old and he came home from his last deployment when our 3yr old was 2yrs old. As soon as the soldiers started filling the gymnasium she tried to run at them to try and find her daddy! We know what it's like to be reunited with our soulmate, but it has to be 1000 times greater for a child to be reunited with their parent.
