Mady Gosselin in Mom's heelsThis just in: People have lots of opinions on how others raise their kids! And if you're a celebrity parent, well, good luck to you. No matter what you choose to do with your child -- be it not breastfeeding them for seven years; putting them in a bikini; or carrying them everywhere -- you're gonna get shit for it. Because everyone else in the world is better/wiser/awesomer than you -- didn't you know that? The latest celebrity mom to get virtually yelled at for their parenting is one all-too familiar with getting virtually yelled at: Kate Gosselin. The mom of eight is currently under fire for tweeting a photo of her 11-year-old daughter, Mady, in her high heels.
Oh. The horror.
Saturday afternoon, Kate posted a photo to her Twitter account of her daughter doing what pretty much all daughters (and sometimes sons) do: Trying on her mom's high heels. The picture, as you can see, features Mady's bare legs, painted toes, and little feet in her mother's too-big glittery high heels, along with Kate's message: "hafta make u guess who just HAD to try on my heels that I just unpacked from my bag tonight... Starts w an 'M."

Naturally, after Kate tweeted the pic to her 100,000-plus fans, the nasty "parenting fail" comments started rolling in, as nasty "parenting fail" comments are wont to do. One of Gosselin's "fans" wrote: "What Mom would showcase her 11 yr old's legs to 100,000 Twitter followers with all the pedophiles out there, wearing Mom's high heels!"; while another tweeted: "If you're suppose to protect your kids why showcase her legs on to the world, how pathetic."
Yikes. I'm not president of the Kate Gosselin Fan Club or anything, but I really don't think she thought much of this photo beyond: This is cute. It's her kid -- who's probably wearing gym shorts and a t-shirt -- wearing her shoes. I doubt she thought she was posting something "controversial" when she tweeted this. You may not agree with Kate's decision to put her children on reality TV, etc., but I honestly don't think she would do something that she thought would endanger her daughter.
I'm not quite sure when it became acceptable to tell every parent, "You're doing it wrong", but I really wish it would stop. Everyone does things differently -- why don't we just deal with it, and focus on other, more important, things -- like raising our own children? Some may think putting a photo of a high heel-clad 11-year-old girl on the Internet is a parenting fail (and they might be right!), but you know what else is? Judging what other moms do.
Do you think it was wrong of Kate to post this picture? Do you feel like "judge" other parents?

I genuinely don't see the problem. All kids try their mother's shoes on! And please, if honey boo boo can parade around the stage in heels, that girl can poe for a simple pic.
Looks like a candid snap that everyone probably has of their little one at some point or another in their photo albums. So what?
I have pictures of my 20 month old niece doing the same thing! Well not that high of heel, and mainly flats or sandals, but she's obessessed with wearing everyone else's shoes. And an 11 year old is in 5th or 6th grade right? Yeah I'm pretty sure I owned a pair of heels by that age.
Oh no, bare legs!! The horror!!
People criticizing her are lifeless losers.
lol and about 3 sizes to big all kids want to fit in Mom's shoes
ohh geez i dont see the big deal, i used to do it and both my dd do it now.. i agree that i dont think she thought beyond the this is cute,
i am a kate supporter and i think that the K haterz as they are sometimes called are just ooking for something to critizise her about..
