Talk about low. Joy Behar, co-host of The View, recently went way too far in an attack on 6-year-old Alana Thompson, star of the new hit show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.
There's certainly a lot to, uh ... digest when it comes to the show. I'm not sure whether people are fascinated by the family because it's so close to reality (or a reality they fear) for many, or because people just want to trash them to make them feel better about their own lives. Whatever the reason, people have plenty to say and can't look away. Behar, however, took the banter to a whole new level when she attacked the girl's weight and predicted a big fat future for her.
While the family's junk food habits are without a doubt concerning, Behar went after her with such venom, it went beyond just being trashy to being downright mean.
What’s little Honey Boo Boo going to grow up to be? That’s what I want to know? She’s going to be a fat kid; she’s going to grow up to be a big fat woman. She is, I can tell. She’s just a kid, but you see the genetics are right there. She’s going to have large boob boobs -- Honey Boobs Boobs.
Thanks Joy, you just gave all the kids on the playground some new ammunition against a little girl. And we wonder why there are so many bullies today with role models like that. I get that she's supposedly a comedienne, but that's far from funny and shows what a classless act she is.

No, eating family-size bags of chips and drinking "Go-Go-Juice" (Red Bull and Mountain Dew) aren't the foundation of a healthy diet. And yes, it does appear that Honey Boo Boo may have some weight challenges ahead of her if things don't change, but Behar calling her names and condemning her to a bleak future isn't going to help. Shame on her. Honey Boo Boo may need help battling weight gain, but she doesn't need hate.
Do you think Joy Behar went too far in her attack on Honey Boo Boo and her weight? Has anyone ever attacked your child over his or her weight?

People saying things like this is to be expected. This family put their lives on display, of course there are going to be negative comments.
Unfortunatley, I think that show was a train wreck from the beginning. That family knew why they were getting the show. It is said, they didn't try to protect their children from it.
Trust me, the kids won't need ammo. I mean, come on, the girl is called "Honey Boo Boo." That's ammo enough!
Joy Behar is a fat, ugly bitch that cant get a job anywhere else and needs to shut her fat mouth! Funny, how she is one to talk, has she seen her ugly ass in a mirror lately?
Joy Behar is a cretin, as we all know. But Honey Boo Boo's parents are the only ones responsible for any bullying the child may receive. They have put the entire family out there for all to see and criticize.
as much as yes, that whole family is in desperate need of some kind of professional help, joy needs to issue a public, on air, appoligy. you can not blame a child that young for their eating habits. it is a direct result of careless parenting.
Some people say what everyone else is thinking but too afraid to say outloud or in public, Joy Behar is that person... cant say I disagree with her.
This family put themselves out there for everyone to see by having a tv show. So you can Blame Mama June and Sugar Bear for selling out and making their daughter vulnerable to bullying, but Joy's comments were right on the money.
I don't watch Joy Behar because she has a bitch'y attitude always has. She's the one who has fat genes you can tell, so she's unhappy with herself, now that she's sagging. Anyhow, I don't watch this Honey Show because who cares how each individual raises their kids. As long as there is no abuse,, FREE country, getting less so everyday because of comments like Joys, and people worrying about other peoples weight or habits.
That child's parents are bordering child abuse and neglect and its being glamorized on tv, so sad America.
