Every single person who died in the Aurora, Colorado massacre deserves to be remembered. Each and every one of them suffered a horrific, unfair, surreal, and unfathomable fate. And one of the most heartbreaking of those deaths is a little girl who only got to live six years in this world before her life was senselessly snuffed out by a madman who too easily got his hands on four guns and 6000 rounds of ammunition. Six-year-old Veronica Moser-Sullivan was the youngest victim of the mass murder. Described by family as "delightful," "lively," "engaging," and set to begin swimming lessons, pictures of Veronica show a beautiful blonde girl eating ice cream, her face lit up by a huge smile.
Veronica's mother, 25-year-old Ashley Moser, is in the hospital suffering from gun shots to the neck and abdomen, and has a bullet lodged in her throat. She's been calling for her daughter in her lucid moments. Her family didn't tell her about Veronica's death -- until today.
"She took it very badly," said Jean Moser, Ashley's grandmother. "I know she was shocked."

There is no reason for an innocent six-year-old girl to die in such a horrific and brutal manner. No child should ever die, and certainly not at the hands of a lunatic. Obviously, the "man" (I hate to call him such) who may have said he "definitely" wanted children in his Match.com profile, and who was a summer camp counselor for children, did not care about children. He did not care about anything. Except, given his bullet-proof outfit, himself.
I cannot imagine what Ashley will go through for the rest of her life. She'll have to live with her own trauma and injuries combined with the brutal slaughter of her young child. Sometimes there is no justice in this world, and whatever justice is meted out to James Holmes won't bring any of his victims back.
Let's remember the victims, including little Veronica Moser-Sullivan.

This breaks my heart.
For those interested in helping where they can, my blog is listing (and updating) various ways to help these people. If you've heard of something I've missed- please let me know.
My heart is still breaking. Just soo much love to those families.
@ Wondering - PG13 movies are not automatically out of the realm of possibility for a 6-year-old. It depends on the maturity level. My favorite movie when I was that around that age was Jurassic Park, which scared the living daylights out of my sister but I loved. Never had a nightmare from it. As for the midnight showing...if this were the midnight showing of "Harry Potter" nobody would be saying a damn word. Pretty much every movie these days opens to a midnight showing. And it's July, meaning she wouldn't be in school, so who cares what time the movie was at? Your judgement is appalling in light of such a tragedy.
@Wondering You are an insensitive jerk. Go climb back into your hole.
This breaks my heart for the mother. I pray she will fully recover and share her daughter's story with the world!
@wondering thats such a dick comment this coulda happened anywhere at anytime of the day. this fool could have went off at winnie the pooh and friends and youd still be saying why the kids parent took them to a movie. get over yourself and quit trying to deflect from the tragedy that happened.
What the FUCK was that little girl doing in a movie theatre, watching an R-rated film at midnight. What the hell is worng with some adults?!!
@GlowWorm889
Give me a break with the maturity shit. Do you really think you can compare Jurassaic park with batman movie, these days? always trying to justify why people are utter idiots.
He probably shot people at the midnight showing because he didn't think there would be kids there.
