Every executive chef needs an assistant--a sous chef, someone to grab the margarine from the fridge, stir the pancake batter, pour the milk into the cereal bowl. As my boys get older, I'm realizing something...they like to cook. Or at least pretend to. In fact, once I can find a play kitchen that isn't pink (how sexist!), I'm grabbing one for my youngest son.
Kitchens can be great places of bonding, shared family love and traditions.
If I can keep up my children's enthusiasm about hanging out in the
kitchen--and actually helping--I'll be thrilled. If I can translate
their passion today into three-course meals tomorrow, even better!
Will your kids be helping out in the kitchen this Thanksgiving?
