Paul and Belinda BerloniThere are all sorts of grandparents in this world. There are those who are hands-on and try to bask in every minute of their grandchildren's life, and there are those who like the occasional visit, but would rather spend their time on the golf course. Then there are those who let the good times roll at all costs when they're in charge, like Paul and Belinda Berloni.
The couple, who lives in Florida (of course), was watching their 7-year-old granddaughter this weekend, and having a grand old time. Slinging back cocktails of some kind, they got inspired to have a little fun. So they tied the girl's toy car to the back of their SUV -- with dog leashes, nonetheless -- then set out on a joy ride ... with her in it.
It gets worse.

According to The Smoking Gun, their fun came to an abrupt halt Sunday when a sheriff saw them. He found the girl wearing just a bathing suit, with no helmet in sight. Not only that, he found both grandparents to be wasted, and that Paul (who was driving at the time) had no license, because it had been revoked for 10 years after a DUI.
They admitted they had been drinking all day, but didn't seem to see the harm in their little outing. Grandma, who was riding in the back “with the rear hatch open cheering the child on as she was being pulled behind the vehicle” told the officer she knew it was dangerous, but ... “they were just having fun and had been doing this all day.”
It's unbelievable on so many levels, not the least of which is that no one stopped them before the sheriff did if they were out there all day. The danger they put that little girl is outrageous, and they're lucky she wasn't hurt. At last report they were in jail for charges of child endangerment and driving under the influence.
