I have never heard of phonetic spelling, am I the only one who hasn't?! I would never want my child to spell that way. It looks unintelligent to me!

I only ran to  my room, slammed the door and whispered, "I hate you, I hate you, I hate you!" and stayed there until I cooled down.  When my daughter did the same and I heard her say I hate you, I told her that I know she thought she did now, but I loved her anyway and when she wanted to cool down and come down and talk, we could talk about it.  After a short time she came down crying and said he didn't hate me.  I told her I knew and i said about the same thing to my mom when I was young.  She seemed glad to hear that.  I told her I didn't mean it with my momand I knew she didn't either.  We then discussed things calmly and worked out whatever problem it might have been.  We hugged and told one another we loved the other one.  She was older than 7 and I was too when I said about the same thing.. 

 

When I was in elementary our shcool taught us phonetic spelling. I hated it because I thought it didn't make any sence to spell that way. :/ 

 

This is creepy. What kind of 7-year-old writes hate mail to her parents? Aside from one letter where it *sounded* like I was threatening my mom (I did NOT realize that until she pointed it out), I NEVER wrote anything like this. Either you're a bad parent or your daughter is a spoiled brat.... or either something is very, very weird about the way her brain works. Since I'm a person who refuses to believe the worst, I'm going with the latter.

Those are too cute!  Those will be great to keep in a scrapbook to give her later on.  Love the appology one at the end.  And the picture of her "long gon" is too funny!  She really does have great penmenship... the spelling of "by accident" was my favorite.

Good lord some of you women are so silly! I highly doubt this little girl is "full of hate". I remember getting mad at my parents and telling them I hated them, I didn't mean it and didn't even really understand what it meant at a young age. Kids do this stuff to express their frustrations. Not because they actually hate their parents. OP these are priceless. Keep them and when she is older she will get a real kick out of them. No therapy sessions required!

i knew there would be many parents who felt this child was being neglected. she is expressing herself. my husband never said i hate you to his parents, but i did to mine. sometimes you don't want to have a long, drawn out conversation analyzing why the kid is upset every single time.
