girl giving directionsWhat do your kids sound like when they give directions to your house? (Well, hopefully they're not giving directions to just anyone!) If you ask my son, he sounds kind of like this young lady here in the video. She's being dubbed "the new Google Maps" because she's probably more accurate. I don't know what country she lives in -- some place with mango trees -- but her directions are totally adorable and completely unhelpful! Take a listen.

 

 

Which isn't to say she doesn't know exactly what she's talking about. You can almost see the map image she has inside her head. Actually, no, you cannot, at all. But you can tell it's really real for her. And I love her hand movements!

She looks to be my son's age, and like her, he could probably find his way home on his own. But ask him for directions home from his school (two neighborhoods away), and he'll send you on a twisty paths along streets with no names (except they do have names, it's just that there are a lot of them and he doesn't know all their names). He does know our address and cross streets, though, so at least there's that. But he would totally do those same hand movements, I know it!
