5 Easy Kid Crafts to Fill Up the Holiday Break

kid craftsHappy Holidays! Now that the Christmas presents have all been unwrapped, played with, and tossed aside for cardboard boxes, your kids may be looking for something to do. You've got  at least another week before those little whipper snappers are back in school, so you've got to get creative. Luckily, there are lots of fun craft blogs out there ready to serve your family in this downtime. Especially if you're like me, and couldn't make up a craft if you found yourself in the middle of Michael's with a thousand dollar gift certificate.

So get out the Elmer's, mom and dad and let's go crafting!

Recycled Robots

One of the cutest things you can do with stuff that's lying around your house, Crafting With My Kid's Angie shows how to make robots. Yep, make robots. That's pretty amazing, wouldn't you say?

Snow Swabs

We recently got a copy of Disney's FamilyFun and it was chock full of fun crafts. You can also check out their online stash of crafts, where you can turn cotton swabs into beautiful snow flakes.

How great would it be to have homemade firecrackers to help ring in the new year? Not as great as the kind of firecrackers that will absolutely not explode in your child's hands, but simply provide decoration. Perfect.

Mason Jar Snow Globes

I love the idea of making your own snow globes. These easy instructions will help you and your kids create a winter wonderland in a mason jar. Cute!

Soda Bottle Polar Bear

A perfect way to use those soda bottles you drained on Christmas. Throw in some old socks, and your kids are recycling experts.
