While I'm loving picturing Soleil Moon Frye (you all know her as Punky Brewster) hitting the Black Friday sale at Target, the truth is she's a die-hard holiday fan and can't get enough of this time of year. Shopping for her two daughters, Poet and Jagger, also just got a lot more fun now that she's the Target Mommy Ambassador. Which is why she has access to all of the amazing toys at the big box store and she and her kids got to test out the goods.

Soleil has the inside scoop on what the hot toys are, and also wants to remind us how to create our own holiday memories. When she sat down to talk to us, and show us, what she's putting under her tree and beside the menorah, I knew my list was going to need some tweaking.

I had those Barbie extensions on my list for my daughter, but they got awful reviews. Not drying in the time specified, ink getting everywhere, printer jams, etc. Sounds like more trouble than fun to me! I'd rather give her a could of old Barbies and a pack of markers and let her go nuts.

I would love to buy game of life for my son but they've redesigned it and it totally sucks now. More chance and less skill involved plus the pieces are flimsier which sadly is a pretty standard complaint across the board on the new versions of old favorites. If my mother ever comes to visit me I'm going to ask if she still has my old set and can bring it with her.

We've managed to snag two Fijits (yellow and purple). DD seemed fascinated and terrified at the same time by the display model. Whenever she'd see a Fijit in the circulars, ads, etc., her little face lights up and she starts screeching. Can't wait to see her open them!
