With top 40 radio being what it is these days, sometimes it seems impossible to prevent kids from hearing, learning, and mimicking "dirty" lyrics. But most of us cringe when we hear them singing every single word to Rihanna's "S&M" or the latest sexual or violent in-your-face hip-hop song being played eight gazillion times a day. Consider this little girl from the UK, Sophia Grace Brownlee, who is a Nicki Minaj fan and knows every single lyric -- even the super-fast raps -- to "Super Bass." Oh, but that's not all. The girl can SING her pint-sized face off and is clearly a natural-born performer!
Check it out ...
See what I mean?! The girl's got TALENT ... oh, and she OWNS it! Her adorable accomplice is fun to watch, too, but turns into nothing more than a backup dancer, because Sophia is a scene-stealing diva. Her performance has even gotten the attention of Nicki herself, who tweeted, "I HAVE to meet her. She's a superstar!" Justin Bieber and Ryan Seacrest were also impressed. So, it's kind of no wonder that she's going to be a guest on Ellen later this week! WOW.
But yeeeeah, it's disturbing that she sings, "Yes you'll get slapped if you're lookin', ho!" and "Someone please tell 'em who the F I is!" She's way too little for that language, even if it is just part of a song. I don't know if there's a "clean" version of the track, but I think it would have been preferable for her to learn that. Hey, at the very least, though, she self-bleeped the line, "He a motherf---ing trip, trip."
Well, regardless of how appropriate or not her song choice is, I'm thinking it's not too crazy to say that this little princess is a prodigy. She might just be destined for stardom.

I'm pretty sure that is the clean version of the song.
My 10 yr old daughter is on me about this song but I'm not even comfortable with the clean version. I let her listen to just about anything but this song is too much.
The line that gets me is 'when he make a drip drip, kiss him on the lip lip'
Maybe they think he's a Coca Cola sales representative.
I think that a girl with that kind of talent should have more "child appropriate" songs to sing.
This is why I listen to Air 1.
Read the news. Kids being over sexualized and abused every day. And people wonder why. Parents need to move their protective borders closer to their children. This kind of trash doesn't belong in our children's minds. How hard is it to find a decent, wholesome song for your child? Seriously, this is lazy parenting.
I watch what my kid is watching or listens too.. this is wrong
I loved it!!! And I highly doubt she understands most of what she was singing. To me, she just showed that she has an amazing voice!!
I quit listening to secular music a year ago...and this is why. I have a 1 and a 3 YO and we only listen to K-love. I had heard enough from my nieces ( 6 and 7)singing Low and Black & Yellow, etc. I know I can't keep them from everything, but they won't be listening to this crap under my watch! Kids understand more now days than we give them credit for!!
Yeah, not a fan.
