13 Moms Confess Embarrassing Back to School Mishaps
Back to school time is really stressful -- not for the kids, for us moms, yo. We have a lot of people to please during that first week back. From buying the perfect first day outfit and the "cool" kind of backpack to packing the right lunch and sending all the necessary school supplies to class. How long was your classroom supply list? Mine was longer than my grocery list, and why does no one in this town stock black dry erase markers, dang it?
Besides, if anything goes wrong, it all comes back on mom. Uncool outfit -- mom's fault. Wrong size backpack -- mom's fault. Healthy, no-fun lunch -- mom's fault. I'm pretty sure the teachers even secretly lay the blame on mom. Wrong sized pencil box -- mom's fault. Ill-behaved kid -- mom's fault. I'm telling you, the pressure is on!
Well, moms, consider this right here a support group for all your Back to School failures. We've got your back because we've been there, done that, and we'll listen and hold our judgment.
Lots of moms already confessed their new school year mishaps under the #BackToSchoolFail hashtag on Twitter. Here are some of the best confessions we received from mom readers. Oh how we can relate!

My cousin completely forgot about the first day of school, and her daughter was still on a camping trip with friends, and missed the first two days. Oops!

Thanks for including me! Gotta say I really relate to Cristina on the forgetting to pick up thing. I'm still having a hard time remembering when I'm supposed to leave the house. And Melissa Garrison: that was awesome. Like, Modern Family awesome.

I think the real fail was the school's fail. Instead of having a back to school night the last week of the holidays they had a moving up day the last day of the year for the kids to meet their teachers and an open night for parents the second week of school. This means we either need to send the kids in with their supplies or wait till the second week to bring them in. I asked my first grader if he could carry the bag and when he tried he almost fell over. Guess that means she isn't getting supplies till the second week. I saw a couple of bigger kids struggling to bring their bags in so hopefully she has enough to get through till then it's not like we really have options.

Really? You have no option but to bring in ALL the supplies at once? Ever think of sending a few items a day for the first couple of days until they all make the trip up to the school?

My daughter isn't old enough to be in school yet. SHe is only 13 months old so that wont come for awhile. Oh gosh! obviously they want you to buy dry erasers for the teachers! that is wrong and messed up. THey are trying to save a little bit of $ and have the parents buy it. You dont ask the teachers to buy your kids clothes. Same stinkin thing.. gr...
