Back to school time is really stressful -- not for the kids, for us moms, yo. We have a lot of people to please during that first week back. From buying the perfect first day outfit and the "cool" kind of backpack to packing the right lunch and sending all the necessary school supplies to class. How long was your classroom supply list? Mine was longer than my grocery list, and why does no one in this town stock black dry erase markers, dang it?
Besides, if anything goes wrong, it all comes back on mom. Uncool outfit -- mom's fault. Wrong size backpack -- mom's fault. Healthy, no-fun lunch -- mom's fault. I'm pretty sure the teachers even secretly lay the blame on mom. Wrong sized pencil box -- mom's fault. Ill-behaved kid -- mom's fault. I'm telling you, the pressure is on!
Well, moms, consider this right here a support group for all your Back to School failures. We've got your back because we've been there, done that, and we'll listen and hold our judgment.
Lots of moms already confessed their new school year mishaps under the #BackToSchoolFail hashtag on Twitter. Here are some of the best confessions we received from mom readers. Oh how we can relate!

started my daughter for her first day of school ever (shes 4)...2 days late....because I forgot to register. Yep....awesome. Not only is she the ONLY white kid in her class...she was 2 days late also. Talk about a grand enterance...
They make different scissors for left and right handed people?? Well dang, I guess my left handed daughter also has right handed scissors!
It never crossed my mind that they would be different LOL
Funny
@Wendi Watson: The KIDS use the dry erase markers. You haven't been in a classroom in a while, have you? The supplies are for the KIDS to use - they have little mini-whiteboards that they use at their desks, they are often up at the board doing work, and sometimes the desks are even made of materials that you can write on with a dry-erase marker.
If you have a problem buying appropriate supplies for your child to use at school, perhaps you should petition your state to raise taxes and start paying teachers more, because teachers for damn sure can't afford to buy supplies for your kids, but we often do it, anyhow. TONS of kids come in with no supplies whatsoever and we end up spending upwards of $600 a year on supplies.
As far as the left handed scissors go...they also make them for both now so you don't have to buy them for specifically left handers. But still make sure to check, the ones I bought for my son a few years ago were for a righty and I had to get new ones. But this year the only ones I saw were universal.
Oversleeping 1st day of senior year. Arrived to school two hours late.
Hey to the poster about the dry erase markers...guess what k4 and k5ers don't use them themselves but they sure on the school supply list.
those are just dumb. Not embarrassing.
