Easy School Lunches in Under 5 Minutes (VIDEO)

myplate turkey wrapAre you tired of hearing about school lunches yet? I hope not, because in a lot of cities, school hasn't even started yet — so it's way too early to be sick of hearing about them!

Below is the third in a series of videos we shot with Cris Comerford, the White House Executive Chef and mom to a 10-year-old girl. Cris knows a thing or two about how to make your kid want to eat their lunch (her daughter makes her own lunch every night, while Cris supervises), and here she shares another healthy (quick to prepare) school lunch option that meets all of the MyPlate guidelines.

And note, if this seems like a lot of food for one kid at lunch, most parents also need to pack a snack for earlier in the day ... so why not take the fruit and yogurt part of this meal and make it their snack?

Add the lunch we prepared above to the other two school lunch options posted earlier (one of which is perfect for sandwich haters), and you will be set for the week!

Cris even suggests prepping everything on Sunday night for the five days ahead and reminds us to cook a little extra for dinner so we can use the leftovers for lunch.

Turkey Wrap

Turkey (or any kind of lunch meat will do)

Low-fat Monterey Jack cheese (or any kind of cheese)
