Have you heard the one about a Long Island mom sending threatening letters to her son's baseball coach? Ah, it's a classic. So. Janet Chiauzzi, 44, is kind of a loose cannon. I imagine she's the type of person who would lose her shit if someone cut her in line, or if the neighbors' bushes were creeping over to her side of the fence. In both cases I'm picturing a chainsaw. Anyway, Janet just seems like she likes to stir up some storms.
So when Chiauzzi heard that the coach did not choose her son to be on the travel squad of the baseball team, she didn't take her defeated boy out for ice cream and tell him he's a champ in her book ... no. She took the crazy, unhinged route and sent letters to the coach threatening violence against his wife and teenage daughter. And that's not even the worst of it!
Janet also sent letters to the principal of the coach's school saying that the coach was a child molester. Holy insanity! It was this claim that got the police involved. They found the accusations to be totally false, and discovered that loony Chiauzzi was behind the whole thing. She was charged with stalking, falsely reporting an incident, endangering the welfare of a child, and aggravated harassment.
Mess with the Chiauzzi and you get the horns. Someone clearly didn't get picked first for kickball and is now taking out her anger and embarrassment on her son's coach. The poor guy is just doing his job and some wacky lady comes after his wife and daughter?
There's only one good thing that could come out of this, and that is an audition for The Real Housewives of New Jersey. I know, I know, she's from New York, but I just don't see her meshing with the ladies of Manhattan as well as she would with the barbarians of Franklin Lakes. Get Chiauzzi on that show, ASAP. Once she's done her time, that is.
What crazy stories have you heard of parents going nuts over kids' sports?
