Summer is here. Okay, it's not officially here until June 21, but it feels like it, and families across the country are in vacation mode. No more school, homework, or lunches that have to be packed. Just long, lazy days with no responsibilities and not a care in the world -- for kids anyway.
For the adults, we have to figure out how to fill all those long, lazy days. Whether a stay-at-home mom or one who heads into the office each day, summer sends most moms scrambling to orchestrate activities and some memory-making moments when they can. The problem -- it can all add up to big bucks.
While school (public school) is pretty much free, camps, vacations, afternoons at the movies, and ice cream runs aren't. Summer can be expensive! Here are seven websites that offer discounts that can help save you some cash this summer:
AAA If you have a AAA card, but never think about it except when you're in need of roadside assistance, think again. Your card will get you discounts at a variety of theme parks, museums, zoos, and hotels.
Regal Movies Back again this summer is the Summer Movie Express. Each Tuesday and Wednesday at 10 a.m. this summer, for nine weeks, select Regal theatres across the country will show a G-rated or PG-rated movie with an admission price of just $1. The whole series will cost you less than 10 bucks per kid -- not bad.
MouseSavers.com If it's Mickey you want to see this summer, this site offers some great information on deals to be found at theme parks and accommodations in both Orlando and Southern California.
Mom.com This CafeMom site, much like the above three, offers discounts on things to eat, do, and buy. A new deal comes out each day, so sign up and see where you can save this summer.
