Oh, Amy Beck (maybe Mrs. Beck to your middle school students back when you weren't in prison and were still allowed to teach), I bet when you were working hard to obtain your teaching credential, you thought you could really make a difference in the lives of your future students. You probably never dreamed your life would end up where it is right now -- in a complete and utter disaster of your own making.
After getting caught in the act, Amy Beck, also a mother of three, turned herself in and admitted to having sex with her 14-year-old student for more than half a year, and she is now serving time for unlawful sexual intercourse and committing a lewd act on a child.
And just when we thought Amy and her actions had caused enough damage, her husband -- who is the one who caught Amy Beck and the boy in the Beck home together -- gets slapped with a lawsuit too.
Sure, we all need to be held accountable for our actions, but Amy Beck's husband National Beck walked in on his wife with her student in their shared home. The details of what National discovered when he walked in are not clear, but it was enough that he knew there was something sexual going down. And can we really blame the guy for blowing his top?
Again, we don't know the nitty gritty, but apparently National Beck, an LAPD officer, upon finding his wife Amy and her student together, pulled out his cop gun and threatened to kill the boy and his family. But he didn't ... He didn't kill him! And he didn't kill his wife either! Yes, we'd hope that a cop would be able to keep his cool in such an adverse situation, especially when it comes to pointing a gun around and making murder threats; however, he walked in on his wife in some sort of compromising sexual situation with this kid!
Of course, we think the gun and the threats were aimed at the wrong person in this case, but now National Beck has been slapped with a lawsuit by the student's parents for making the threats. Thanks, Amy. Thanks for this lovely gift that keeps on giving.
Do you blame this husband for flying off the handle? Or do you think he was justified?
