A middle school principal in Memphis has come up with an odd -- yet successful -- punishment for students who violate his "no baggy pants" policy: Students who wear their pants like they see in rap videos get "Urkeled" with zip ties.
The practice is inspired by the nerdy Family Matters character Steve Urkel, who famously wore his pants pulled up to somewhere around his ears. School staff mimic his style by pulling offending students' pants up -- sometimes to the middle of their chests -- and secure them with twist ties.
The embarrassment resulting from being "Urkeled" has rendered the experiment to be successful -- very few students try to get away with baggy pants these days.
What do you think of students getting "Urkeled"?
