Today, Irene Nam shares a peek at the fall photo walk she and her boys take around Paris (yes, the lucky ducks live there), as part of our "On This Fall Day" series.
Each day, a new blogger is sharing a single fall day in photos + words here on The Stir. Follow along with our series to catch small, beautiful glimpses of the fun autumn activities other families are enjoying around the country and abroad.
On this fall day, I took my twin boys Sean and Will on a photo walk in our hometown Paris.
We ventured out of our neighborhood, a gentle breeze brushing our faces and crisp leaves crunching under our feet.
We stopped for vanilla macarons -- our favorite treat, crossed the street to walk in the sunshine, the boys experimented with flash and took some pictures to be later uploaded on their photo blog. Sometimes we sit at a small café for a chocolat chaud or pick up some books at the local library before heading home.
You’d think that raising kids in Paris would somehow involve lots of fancy activities such as museum visits and long walks on Ile Saint-Louis or jardin du Luxembourg. But really, even though I’m very grateful to live in a city that regularly exposes young children to a variety of the arts, finding joy and delightful comfort in the small, simple things is what define our fondest memories, our best moments together.
Irene, I am now completely dying of Paris envy. What a beautiful day for a photo walk.
