Surprise Military Family Reunions (Video)

military dad daughter reunionOkay, this video of surprise military family reunions that's going around the internet (originally posted on Facebook by Goobig Qp) made me weep like a baby. The video is made up mostly of kids reuniting with their military dads and moms, and their surprised faces and all-out hugs tug intensely at the heartstrings.

Really, it can't be said enough. I am so grateful for the men and women in the armed forces who must leave their spouses, their kids (sob!), and their mothers (double sob!) behind in order to serve our country. Thank you to each and every one of you.

And this video, what a testament about our innate impulse to grab and hug tightly the ones we love the most.

See how long you can hold it together watching this one. The very first little girl who literally clutches at her heart had me bawling -- and the boy who literally leaps into his dad's arms and the surprised wife who cries with relief and the mom who screams all around the room and the dad who lifts his big boy into his arms and, well, see for yourself...

Which reunion touches you the most?

i saw that on facebook last week.  i bawled for 7 1/2 minutes, before i finally had to stop it.  i couldn't handle it anymore.

I watched this the other day, my husband just got home from his deployment and this video gave me the chills! Especially since he surprised me when our daughter was born by taking emergency leave, not telling me, and showing up on our doorstep. Best surprise ever!

Death... Deathlilly

I was balling through the whole thing. I tried to be strong, but that first little girl was too much.

As a former military member, and brother, son & grandson of military members, I am reminded of the sacrifices so many go through. But none tougher than those placed on the children. So much time missed and lost. Prayers and best wishes to all those serving and their families.

This video touched me so much. My hubby is currently deployed and I'm fixing to deploy. We have four children and I can't wait till our honecoming. Thank you for giving us a reason to continue the fight. Without your support we are nothing. God Bless America!

This is what the sacrifice is all about.  And to the men and women who had to leave children behind to do their jobs - I salute you.  You are men above men, women above women.  As the children just melt when they are finally back in their parent's arms.. you are seeing genuine love.  My ex husband willingly left our two kids and our marriage for another woman.  He moved to a different state to start a new life.  And he's 'upset' that they want nothing to do with him or have a relationship with him.  He doesn't deserve a moment of their time or their lives.  He will never get back the years he chose to be away and deserves no moments like this.  american flag ribbon These men and women are heroes.  Period.
