beer bottlesThe Princeton Review has just released the Top Party Schools for 2011. The University of Georgia took the lead at #1 Party School this year. The university located in downtown Athens is surrounded by nearly 100 bars -- and parties seem to permeate college life from August to May and Thursdays to Sundays. Yikes.

Read on for other partying, drinking, and smoking rankings that might be of interest to you if you're using your hard-earned cash to send your kid off to college to, you know, actually learn something other than Binge Drinking Basics and Bong Rips 101.

To compile The Best 373 Colleges guide, the Princeton Review surveyed over 122,000 students and collected tons of information to help parents and students find the best colleges -- including 62 ranking lists.

However, that doesn't necessarily mean you'll want your kid to pick a college best known for its partying resume, especially if you're footing the tuition bill.

Nice to know my school PSU is #3 on party schools, lol.

I dont know if I would feel comfortable sending my child to a party school, but I guess it also depends on what major he wanted and how great the programs are.

I definitely steered my children away from OU - they have had a party reputation for a long time.  However, any school is a party school if the students are looking for it.  My daughter has been an RA for a couple of  years and most of her time on duty is spent calling ambulances for alcohol related issues for the freshman.  Her school is one that is lobbying to have the college drinking age dropped to 18 in hopes, if not eliminate, then cut down on over drinking by freshman.  They believe that if it is not forbidden & accessible, they will not over indulge - I think they might be on to something.

I am really surprised that no Texas universities took the top spots.  There are a few here that are notorious for their partying.
