Photo from YouTubeA controversial video of young girls (probably 8 or 9 years old) performing a salacious dance to "Single Ladies" in insanely sexy costumes is circulating the interwebs right now. Watch the video.
There's no question of the girls' dance talent ... but what about those hip-popping Beyoncé moves? And those sultry red satin can-can girl costumes?
Talk amongst yourselves: Cute or what the hell are their parents thinking?

you got it WHAT THE HELL ARE THE PARENTS THINKING . MY CHILD WOULDNT HAVE BEEN DANCING IN A OUTFIT LIKE THAT.
My children go to a dance school and their competitive dance team is about 7 or 8 years old (my girls are NOT in this group) and they dance to this same song. It's the version done by the girl chipmunks, but they wear skimpy little outfits and sport huge fake diamond rings. Much less "showy" than this dane, but STILL during a recent show, there were so many people in the audience making remarks about how horrible it was, and "where are their poles?" The funny thing is, our dance teacher advertises her dance school as "tasteful booty" where she won't do skimpy stuff or stripper-type dances, but it's STILL over the top. One of the many reasons we decided to take the girls out of dance after this recital next week! Dance has gotten to be too much about sexy, raunchy, nasty dancers in skimpy outfits than sweet girls doing ballet, etc. lol.
Beyonce's video is too risqué itself, but society has become so desensitized to that fact that somehow it was easy to convince an adult dance instructor and a group of parents that it was perfectly ok to allow these young girls to perform this inappropriate dance all for the sake of competition. There were a lot of other ways to show off their talents without stooping to these tactics. People who think this is ok, seriously need to unplug from the system and deprogram themselves. Mothers should care about protecting their children from sexual predators, not out there exploiting their children for the sake of an plastic trophy. A cartoon character is not a real child living in the real world with real consequences for their actions and should never be used as an excuse for allowing such behavior from parents and children.
I couldn't even watch the whole video. There's no way in h*** my little girls would be parading around in public dressed like that. And dancing like strippers. SMH The parent's ought to be ashamed of themselves.
CBS says the girls are 7yrs old. those costumes show more skin than Beyonce's video. not cool
Parents like the ones who would allow their little girls to dress and dance like that are abusing them as far as I am concerned. It seems to me that they further pedophelia- and that goes for the person who set this up with the costumes, song, and dance moves. If some pedophile sees this, the way the children are sexualized in dress and movements, it will probably look to him/her more than ever that their ideas are justified and correct, and they will be more likely then ever to act on those ideas. This IS just wrong- right from it's very inception. In the long run it will also encourage the little girls to act and behave in a sexual manner while still young and they could easily end up as young teen mothers.
It may sound like I'm prudish and maybe I am in some ways. If they were swimming nude I wouldn't say a thing (wearing clothing in the water is STUPID!) and wouldn't pay any attention, but that is not sexualized. This dance is built around presenting them sexually. It makes a big difference.
WTH? Is my reaction. Just not good.
I think we are foisting our own hypersexual anxieties on these little girls who are just up there having a blast, wearing nothing worse than they would wear at the beach. Let's all just take a big breath and relax a little. Perhaps their parents could have used a little savvier judgement, but I would hate to see these girls be made to feel ashamed of their natural vitality & talent.
They look like brothel whores. Their moves are absolutely not appropriate for anyone outside a bedroom or a strip club. Even Beyonce had more class (and clothes) than that.
I've heard the parents' excuses and they suck. It's completely inappropriate.
Another part that bothers me is it's OBVIOUS those little girls are extremely talented... but their talent was wasted on such a horrid routine with such awful costumes and choreography.
Okay a lot of parents today DON'T sensor what the kids watch or do. That is really bad since they start learning things they shouldn't know. Like my little cousin is 6 and says stupid stuff like this guy thinks I am hot or Look he is checking me out. I look at her like what the hell is your parents teaching you???! Outfits are getting more revelling and moms like that say ohh it is so cute! No it is sick!! THOSE MOMS SHOULD BE SMACKED!
