ParentFurther: Everyday Steps for Raising Successful Kids

16

The following is a guest post from our sponsor, Search Institute.

Parenting is a very rewarding experience, but it can also be a challenge. We created ParentFurther to provide you with a unique community and an easy to-use, comprehensive resource that offers support and practical steps to help you with a wide range of everyday parenting issues. Our goal is to help you raise caring, healthy, responsible, successful kids.

ParentFurther.com Can Help You Today

From time to time, all parents need a little help. Sometimes, a piece of solid, encouraging advice can help you have an "a-ha" moment that changes the way you think and act. Instead of focusing on what's wrong with kids, our positive, strength-based approach to parenting focuses on what's right with kids and parents and the small everyday steps you can take to help kids be successful in the future.

Behind our advice and approach are research-based information and tools that have been put to the test in the real world, as well as a panel of experts in parenting, child psychology, and related fields. The core of our approach is built on Search Institute's Developmental Assets®: 40 common sense, positive qualities and experiences that help influence the choices kids make.

Our newly redesigned and updated website offers practical, everyday parenting tips and helpful advice on a wide range of subjects, from family communication to community involvement to preventing underage tobacco use. You'll find many other useful resources, including:

  • Everyday Parenting Ideas, a free e-newsletter
  • Articles on common parenting issues
  • Discussion forums where parents can seek advice
  • E-cards to send encouraging messages

Yup. The internet and bookshelves are positively filled with advise on how kids ought to behave, how not to plagiarize, bully, etc… but what about their PARENTS?
