Really love the idea for celebrating actual tweens as role models for other tweens. After all, don't we always seem to learn the most from the people who are most like us?
Do you think of your tween, daughter or son, as a role model? Tell us why.

My ten year old daughter, whom I refuse to refer to as a "tween" since it is a made up word, is a great kid. She is a role model but only for those who want the same things. I would never, however, submit her to a feminine agenda magazine.
I have a 10 yo ds. In my view he is a role model, even to his older sisters! He is always courteous, does his homework without being nagged (most of the time), keeps his room fairly clean (again without nagging!), and is just a good kid! He does not get in trouble! I don't know WHERE this kid came from, cause he is nothing like his sisters at that age, LOL! As wonderful as he is, though, I would not submit his photo/name to be in a mag. for something like that. That kind of attention and pressure is not good for kids, in my opinion.
I don't have a 'tween-er but I LOVE THAT Discovery Girls are doing this!!!!!!!!!!
Kids NEED REAL kids to help inspire them rather than FAKE characters & 'stars'!
my sister would like this
nice! when my girls are old enough, i would like them to have "real girls' as their role models...
This is a wonderful "share"...thank you!
I think it is great that they are doing this.
Considering all the shlock that is out there, this is kind of refreshing! My daughter is nowhere NEAR old enough, however I have two tween nieces that are exemplary little girls...I may have to put their names in for this!
This is really nice and refreshing. Sometimes the superficial 'celeb/model' world is to much for a kid to take in!
I dont have any tween to reccomend as a role model but I love this idea! Our kids need real people in their own lives to look up to.Not just celebrities
