Prince Harry's Good Friend Sticks Up for Him After His Parenting Is Criticized
Despite being over the moon about becoming a father, in a round about way, Prince Harry was just criticized for leaving baby Archie so soon after his birth. Last week, the Duke of Sussex popped over to Rome for the 2019 Sentebale ISPS Handa Polo Cup, leaving behind his new baby and wife, Meghan Markle. The appearance was pre-planned and one that's near and dear to Harry's heart -- but still, that didn't stop people from commenting on the fact that he was so far from home. Luckily, Harry's close friend Nacho Figueras was around to shut down any talk.
After a reporter implied that Harry left his wife and baby too soon, the duke's good friend stuck up for him, all while keeping it classy.
After a reporter said: "Not many fathers go abroad within two weeks of the birth, any word on that from the mother?” here's what Figueras had to say:
"That's an assumption that you're making. I am a father of four and sometimes duty calls. This is 24 hours away from the house, I think he's doing just fine. He's a wonderful father. Very present. I'm very impressed and he's here for an amazing cause. So I think that's a ... I don't see that as a problem."
If Figueras's response could be summed up in one word, it's this:
Boom!
Even though Harry's trip required a plane ride, it's important to note that he was only away from home for about 24 hours.
Also, let's not forget, it was an important charity cause.
Presumably, Meghan has staff to help with things around the house while she looks after Archie.
And it's also important to note that a fan actually spotted Prince Harry on the plane ride back to England!
According to Hello! a royal fan saw the duke on the plane and quickly took to Facebook.
”I look over and see a guy who looks like Prince Harry," the post said. "And he has a wedding ring on and looks very tired... Finally my brain clicks and I realize, it is Prince Harry on the way back to London from Rome…"
Sure, Harry's been a bit busy since the birth of his son, but, as the case was with Prince William when his kids were tiny, duty calls.
We're going to go ahead and assume that Meghan knew about all of this before Archie was born and is OK with it.
And we're also going to assume that, like Figueras said, Harry is completely present when his with his baby.
