For most of us, the term "granny panties" elicits a visceral response. Maybe you picture your lovely grandmother with bloomers up to her chest, or just all around associate the word with underwear that is the exact opposite of anything at all relating to "sexy." You may not want to admit that you've racked up more than a few pairs of your own granny panties over the years, but one woman may just change your feelings on that. This hilarious mom's ode to her granny panties is everything you didn't know you needed today.

"Dear Girl in the Giant Underpants," blogger Adrian Wood of Tales of an Educated Debutante starts her Facebook post. "You are awesome."

"You've pushed your body to the limit," she writes, "swimming, roller skating, sports, gymnastics. Never the very best, but you ran hard and you showed up. You still run hard, but you wonder, who has time to exercise? You show up so many places, forget a few, and you think to yourself -- how does she look so good?"

None of us moms who rock giant granny panties feel quite the way we used to. But, despite the changes, Adrian says she's still the same person she's always been, and she deserves to rock her granny panties with confidence. "You are wonderful and amazing and you rock those giant underpants. I mean, you've earned wearing them. It's not just that you're over 40. Nope, you've given birth three times and number four was a C-section," she writes. "Your body never has bounced back after that, though honestly, you've got bigger fish to fry than a smushy tummy."

Adrian encourages her fellow mothers to appreciate themselves, whether it be for their bodies, their contributions to their families, or anything else that they do in life.

"You are more than that bit of pudge. You are more than those giant underpants. You are a mama and a warrior and you are present, soaking in the moments rather than wishing them away. I know you're tired, so let yourself rest a while," she adds. "Be the best mama you can be and if it's running every day, then go for it. If it's coffee with cream and sugar, live it up. If it's climbing the jungle gym, chasing geese and ice cream on the way home, own it."

What started off as a fun post about granny panties quickly transformed into an inspiring message to every mom reading it. With only her words and a fantastic photo, Adrian Wood has made us want to appreciate ourselves and our granny panties a whole lot more.

She ends the post with a statement that is, unsurprisingly, incredibly moving: "You are enough. You are more than enough. Those giant underpants don't define you."
