7 Places I Like to 'Flaunt' My 'Post-Baby Body' -- Because Tess Holliday Is All of Us

Tess Holliday

This morning, I was scrolling through Twitter when I came across a post from Tess Holliday, one of my favorite models and advocates for body sanity, who was understandably pissed about some photos published of her without permission along with a headline that should annoy every mom.

I won't republish or link to the images here, since they were taken of Holliday without her knowledge, while she happened to be in a bathing suit -- but just know she looks beautiful, mkay? The headline Radar Online used to pimp the pics reads, "Plus-Size Model Tess Holliday Flaunts Post Baby Body in a Revealing Bikini."

Ick. Holliday gave birth just a few weeks ago in June to a son, Bowie Juniper, who joins 10-year-old big brother Rylee. So technically, Holliday has had a post-baby body for a decade.

For contrast, here's Holliday from her Instagram looking exactly like herself. Flaunting? Definitely. But that's something we get to choose, not a room of tabloid editors.

Holliday, being the feisty feminist she is, wasn't about to let this example of sexist nonsense go by unnoted.

First she asked on Twitter, "What is the obsession with moms in the spotlight & 'bouncing back' after GIVING BIRTH?!"

Don't know, Tess. But it's tired and sexist.

Then she posed another important point:

I'm a mom. I adopted, so I didn't technically have a "post-baby body" -- but I have to say motherhood has done a number on my pants size. From being just too tired to work out, to living off of french fries and chicken nuggets I pick up off the car floor, there's all kinds of stuff motherhood does to your body.

So in honor of Tess, and all the other moms who are rocking their own versions of "mom bod," I thought I might share a list of places any interested parties might want to hang out and see me "flaunting" my own post-baby body.

1. Flopping around at yoga class

Flaunt it!

2. Arguing with my kid in the grocery store

So glam.

3. Meet-the-teacher night

Werk!

4. At the water park

There's nothing flauntier than flaunting a post-baby BIKINI BODY, AMIRITE?

5. At the mall shopping for school clothes

Motherhood is so sexy.

6. Family camping trips

Flaunt that snuggie.

7. And, of course, at a concert

Yes, I am the cool mom.

So moms everywhere, go out and "flaunt" that "post-baby body" -- or, what it might most accurately be called, your body -- now and forever. And it looks amazing, girl!
